How Much Does a Business Website Cost?
Compare website proposals by scope, content, functionality, migration and ongoing responsibilities.

A business website budget should describe an outcome, not just a number of pages. A bilingual brochure site with supplied content differs substantially from a content-heavy migration or an integrated booking platform. This article gives a budgeting framework, not a current market price list.
Define the baseline
List page types, languages, content volumes and who creates each asset. Clarify whether the supplier is designing reusable templates or a unique layout for every page. Count functionality separately: search, forms, accounts and integrations can require more work than several informational pages.
Include the invisible work
Discovery, accessibility, technical SEO, analytics configuration, redirects, testing and training are work packages. Ask what each deliverable includes and how it will be accepted. SEO-ready should mean identifiable technical provisions, not a promise of a ranking position.
Compare like with like
| Proposal question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is copywriting included? | Missing content delays a finished design |
| Who supplies and licenses imagery? | Asset rights and quality need ownership |
| Are old URLs mapped? | A redesign can otherwise lose useful destinations |
| What does the form actually do? | Opening email and server delivery are different |
| What happens after handover? | Hosting, updates and support still need a budget |
For a hypothetical comparison, one quote may include Thai translation while another assumes you supply it. Align those assumptions before treating the difference as a discount.
Choose where to reduce cost
Reduce unique layouts, optional animation or low-value launch pages before removing essential content, mobile testing or a working contact journey. A small coherent site can be expanded. A large site with thin pages and broken handoffs creates more maintenance without answering visitors' questions.
Prepare a useful request for quotation
Provide your audience, business objective, desired launch scope, existing URL list, content ownership and required integrations. Request assumptions and exclusions in writing. Use our good business website checklist to judge whether the proposed budget buys the things your visitors actually need.
